If you are a serving or a former Merchant Navy seafarer or a family member and looking for help, Merchant Navy Fund works with a number of maritime charity partners who may able to help you.

Seafarer Support

Seafarer Support is a free telephone helpline for serving or former seafarers and seafaring families in need of assistance. Trained advisers will be able to assess your needs and will then pair you up with the appropriate support. The Seafarers’ Advice & Information Line

The Seafarers’ Advice & Information Line (SAIL) is a dedicated advice line for free, confidential and impartial advice about debts, statutory benefits, employment rights and legal issues. SAIL can be contacted on 0800 160 1842 or via their Online Enquiry Service at www.sailine.org.uk

Sailors’ Children’s Society

If you have ever worked at sea and are struggling to bring up your children get in touch with Sailors’ Children’s Society for help or just someone to talk to: www.sailorschildren.org.uk

The Silver Line

Seafarers UK has teamed up with charity The Silver Line to organise regular free group telephone calls for former seafarers.
