International Port Welfare Partnership – a Centenary project

Seafarers UK - Merchant Navy Welfare Board meeting

The International Port Welfare Partnership (IPWP) is an international project designed to encourage the set-up of ‘Welfare Boards’ in ports and nations around the world to better coordinate welfare facilities for seafarers when they come into port where there are no or limited services available.

The IPWP project aims to strengthen the international port welfare network, to foster closer collaboration between stakeholders at a local, national and international port level, and ultimately to improve welfare facilities for seafarers when in port.

It aims to achieve this through engagement and facilitation, and by providing auditing and training services and on-going support.

You can find out more about this project, either by downloading our Centenary Fundraising Projects flyer, or by contacting Richard Holmes at Seafarers UK.

2017 is a very special year for Seafarers UK, so why not help us to support similar projects with a donation to our ‘Serving Seafarers Centenary Appeal’.
