The safety of shipping and the well-being of seafarers have been the prime concerns of Trinity House ever since it was granted a Royal Charter by Henry VIII in 1514.
These days it has three distinct functions: The Trinity House Lighthouse Service, its charitable work and Deep Sea Pilotage.
Seafarers UK and Trinity House work closely to identify welfare need and share information with regard to grant giving. Seafarers UK also provides Trinity House with grant-assessment and processing services.
