Centenary dinners

In 2017 Seafarers UK will mark its 100th year by holding four special Centenary Celebration events.

In doing so, Seafarers UK aims to highlight the debt of gratitude we all owe the generations of seafarers by reflecting upon the sacrifices of the past and by supporting those still serving as well as those training to be our seafarers of the future.

The ‘Liverpool Centenary Celebration Dinner’ took place on 23 February 2017 at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. All funds raised on the night are in support of the new accommodation and care wing being built at Mariners’ Park in Wallasey – a Seafarers UK Centenary project. For more information about this event, please click here.

The ‘London Centenary Celebration Dinner’ took place on 28 March 2017 at Guildhall exactly one hundred years to the day since the first meeting took place in the City of London to discuss the formation of the charity. For more information about this event, please click here.

Seafarers UK’s Bristol Committee is holding its ‘Bristol Centenary Celebration Dinner’ on 12 July at the Bristol Mansion House. For further information about the Bristol Dinner when it becomes available, please contact Diana Wyatt on dswyatt@blueyonder.co.uk.

The fourth event will be a ‘Scotland Centenary Celebration Dinner’ which is planned to take place in Glasgow in the Autumn of 2017. More details on the date and venue will be provided in the coming months.
